2023 Business Meeting Minutes

The 2023 business meeting of the North Carolina Religious Studies Association (NCRSA) was held Saturday, October 28 on the campus of UNC Chapel Hill. The meeting was called to order at 12:30 by  Dr. Randall Reed, President. John Brooks, secretary, recorded the proceedings.

Dr. Reed welcomed members to the meeting. 

Dr. Boaheng, Program Chair, presented the awards for student presentations. The undergraduate award went to Claire Crane. There was no graduate award.

The minutes of the 2022 meeting were reviewed and approved.

Dr. Brooks, treasurer, reported that the NCRSA had expenditures of $220 and receipts of $220 for a new balance of $817.90.

Dr. P. Eddy Wilson, editor of Thinking About Religion, reported on the status of the journal.

Officers were elected. Dr. Boaheng, as Program Chair, automatically became President. Dr. Brooks reported that Fayetteville State University had agreed to host the meeting for 2024. The members decided to accept the offer.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:00 p.m.
